We are a small and dynamic software development group at Nintendo. We develop networking software for Nintendo's game systems, do research and prototyping, and develop networking tools and solutions. We are looking for a software engineer with a passion for networking technologies who is experienced with production-level software development. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, debugging, and testing of network related software. The candidate should have strong C/C++ programming and communications skills.


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES






  • Design and develop software for wireless and real-time communications.

  • Develop new software features and maintain existing software in C and Modern C++.

  • Drive architecture design and software implementation.

  • Create technical specifications, design documentation, and test plans.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other engineers.








SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:


  • 2-6 years’ experience as a software development engineer.

  • Strong C and Modern C++ programming and debugging skills.

  • Experience using Git in software development.

  • Experience in embedded programming systems, RTOS, and multi-threaded systems.

  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, and QUIC.

  • Knowledge of network programming in C, C++, Rust, or Go.

  • Knowledge of wireless standards such as 5G, LTE, Bluetooth, and WiFi, is desirable.

  • Knowledge of real-time communication protocols such as WebRTC and MoQT, is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge and experience with software development in Linux environment is highly desirable.

  • Ability to drive difficult issues to successful completion. 

  • Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Diligent, detail-oriented, and willing to take initiative and handle assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:



  • Professional experience developing Modern C++ (C++14, C++17, C++20) software for communication protocols.

  • Professional experience developing low-level and network programming software.

  • Professional experience developing with embedded and multi-threaded systems.


This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. 




 

This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Pay Range:
$56.44$101.58 USD
