DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES



  • Reviews design work to ensure the usage and design of Nintendo characters and/or other IP are in compliance with the Nintendo Style Guidelines. Provides feedback and instructions on how to appropriately modify drawings and other submissions to meet quality standards. Assists in creating reference materials and documentation of game characters for licensees. Work directly with the Nintendo Japan Licensing team to maintain Nintendo’s high standard of artwork quality and protect IP and character images. Determines and provides recommendations on design review method effectiveness and provides feedback to vendors to ensure quality improvements. Manages and prioritizes multiple simultaneous review requests to meet the production schedule.


SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:



  • Three (3) or more years of related experience. Artistic/technical skills with experience in character creation and manipulation is required. 3D modeling and rendering experience with 3ds Max, Cinema4D, Blender, or equivalent software will be considered. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Proven proficiency with Maya (or similar 3D modeling package) Z-Brush, Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint. A keen eye for detail and a designer’s eye to detect and critique flaws. A strong interest in Nintendo’s games, toys, characters and IP. Possesses a wide range of in-depth knowledge of games, comics and animation in North America. Ability to communicate complex and artistic/technical information in both Japanese and English is preferred. Experience working on figures, statue, plush, and other 3D character-based goods is a plus. Comfortable providing feedback/review throughout all phases of design, concepting, and execution. Undergraduate degree in art or related field or an equivalent combination of education or experience.     



 

This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

$91,500$146,400 USD
