About this role

We are hiring for multiple Product Developer II positions within Kids Footwear.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a member of the Kids Footwear Team, you’ll collaborate closely with functional partners across the product creation process, including Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and overseas partners, both internal and external to NIKE. You will report to the Footwear Tech Development Director in Kids and navigate the Nike matrix to ensure processes align with NIKE Footwear Development best practices. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for overseas partners, ensuring communication is consistent, clear, and actionable.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Technical Developer 2 to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team, creating amazing footwear for our youngest athletes! You should demonstrate strengths in project management, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving within a product creation environment. You are a self-starter, a quick learner, a clear communicator, and a team-oriented contributor with strong leadership skills. As a member of the NIKE Kids team, you’ll help shape the future of kids’ footwear and solve challenges that support the unique needs tied to children’s stages of development.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • Minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Effective collaborator adept at working productively within a team, including experience facilitating meetings, driving consensus, and influencing others.
  • Proven communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
  • Ability to identify and recommend cost‑effective solutions and apply creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in project management and hands-on product iteration, including ability to read technical drawings and digital files.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, test methods, and their application.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

You’ll drive product and process excellence for assigned projects, transforming a project brief and 2D design into a 3D sample that delivers on consumer insights and business goals. You’ll engage across all phases of the product creation process to ensure projects hit critical dates and deliver against design intent, performance expectations, costing, profitability, and sustainability goals. You also prepare projects for successful commercialization and manufacturability.

  • Collaborate across functional teams to advance project goals.
  • Translate 2D design intent into 3D product samples.
  • Use technical expertise to elevate product quality and value.
  • Ensure alignment with timelines, cost targets, and sustainability metrics.
  • Support effective commercialization and manufacturability.
