About this role

Job Summary:
The Houseman plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the hotel. This position supports the housekeeping and maintenance teams by ensuring public areas, guest floors, and back-of-house spaces are tidy and well-stocked. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to providing a welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist housekeeping staff by delivering linens, towels, and other supplies to guest rooms and storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas and dispose of them properly.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Support deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing, window washing, and furniture polishing.
  • Ensure hotel carts, cleaning tools, and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

Qualifications:

  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
