Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on technical experience
• Proficiency in ABAP development, including data dictionary objects, reports, function modules, BAPIs, and IDocs.
• Solid understanding of SAP data structures, database (SQL Server or SAP HANA), and technical architecture.
• Should have experience in understanding customized functionality in SAP B1 and create an understanding document.
• Write tech specification if required.
• Should have thorough understanding of tables, Views and other technical objects.
• Should be able to generate / extract data for migration activities
• Familiarity with data migration methodologies and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working directly with clients is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
• Certification in SAP B1 development or SAP ABAP development.
Responsibilities:
• Migration Planning and Execution: Participate in the technical planning and execution of the SAP B1 to SAP ECC migration project.
• Data Extraction and Transformation: Design, develop, and implement data extraction routines from SAP B1 and transformation logic to align with SAP ECC data structures.
• Custom Development (ABAP & SAP B1 SDK): Develop custom ABAP programs in the SAP ECC environment for data loading, integration, and any required enhancements. Utilize SAP B1 SDK (DI API, UI API) for data extraction and potential customizations within SAP B1 to facilitate the migration.
• Integration Development: Design, develop, and implement integration solutions between SAP B1 and SAP ECC during the migration phase and potentially for ongoing data synchronization. This may involve technologies like SAP PI/PO, IDocs, APIs, or other integration tools.
• Technical Design and Documentation: Create detailed technical design documents for data extraction, transformation, custom development, and integration processes.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the quality and accuracy of the migrated data and custom solutions.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that arise during the migration process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants (both SAP B1 and SAP ECC), project managers, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and project success.
• Knowledge Transfer and Training: Provide knowledge transfer to client IT teams on the technical aspects of the migration and any custom-developed solutions.
• Staying Updated: Keep abreast of the latest SAP technologies and best practices related to SAP B1 and SAP ECC migration.
