Position Specific Description

The Site Access Coordinator is a critical position for in-processing personnel at Point Beach. They are usually the first person at the site that a worker has interaction with and plays an important role representing Point Beach. This role requires a significant amount of organizational skills and is required to coordinate many moving pieces at one time. Work hours can extend past ‘normal hours’ as the AA/FFD Team is available to the Site 24/7/365.  Although the job can be demanding and some job requirements less than tasteful, it can also be fun, interesting and rewarding. Many times, each day brings new and exciting challenges that you won’t experience in any other job at the site or in the country.

Job Overview

This position supports compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations regarding access for personnel to nuclear power plants. Employees in this role ensure that the company’s Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA) program authorizes Unescorted Access (UA) to only those individuals who are trustworthy, reliable and do not pose public health and safety risks. This position performs Reviewing Official duties and activities related to implementation and maintenance of the NRC UAA/AA and Fitness for Duty (FFD) programs as required by Federal Regulations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates potential human threats based on Potentially Disqualifying Information (PDI), Behavior Observation Program (BOP) data, and any subsequent determination of fitness for employment at nuclear facilities
  • Provides general oversight and work direction for temporary employees and contractors assisting in the AA/FFD offices
  • Reviews and processes Personal History Questionnaires (PHQ) and resolves inconsistent or adverse information during one-on-one interviews
  • Serves as a lead during management absences
  • Processes fingerprint and FFD screening information
  • Resolves inconsistent or adverse background, fingerprint and FFD results via one-on-one interviews with workers
  • Shares information with other Nuclear Licenses with proper consent
  • Reviews AA/FFD related information for a favorable or unfavorable UAA/UA determination
  • Determines appropriate requirements for individuals requesting or maintaining UAA/UA
  • Oversees the assembly and distribution of unescorted access badges and deactivates badges for individuals who no longer require access
  • Conducts pre-access, random, for-cause and post-event drug and alcohol testing for compliance with 10 CFR Part 26
  • Travels to support other plants during outages and plant events
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • Associate's in Criminal Justice, Security, Business or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • With Associate's degree, access, FFD, security, criminal investigation, law enforcement or related experience: 5+ years
  • In absence of degree, access, FFD, security, criminal investigation, law enforcement or related experience: 8+ years
  • Exempt level security, access, or FFD experience: 3+ years
  • Prior military training and experience may be considered as equivalent education and experience
