About this role

At NEXT, we're looking for a natural problem solver with a strong technical aptitude to oversee all digital aspects of our busy photo studio as a Senior Studio Technical Coordinator. This role is based at our Premier Park Studios (NW10) offering a salary up to £35,362, 4 days a week.
About the Role:
As the Senior Studio Technical Coordinator, you will coordinate and oversee all technical operations to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to high quality standards. Your primary focus will involve managing studio systems to their optimum levels, building system architecture, and maintaining essential disaster recovery strategies to meet business continuity demands. You will act as the key contact for system administration and desktop support while providing detailed reporting to senior management regarding technical progress.

Beyond system maintenance, you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues quickly to minimize downtime for the production and creative teams. This includes managing the equipment inventory, developing standard operating procedures for safety and maintenance, and training staff on the latest equipment operation. You will also stay ahead of emerging industry trends to recommend upgrades that keep the studio at the forefront of technology.

To ensure smooth daily operations, you will coordinate the logistics for studio productions, including personnel assignments and resource allocation. You will work closely with Studio Floor Assistants on set changes and will be expected to deputise for the Studio Manager on any technical or maintenance issues that arise. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to supporting the entire photographic environment.

About you:

  • Experience in a similar technical role or environment with a genuine interest in photography.
  • Excellent knowledge of MacOSx and software applications, specifically Capture One.
  • Strong understanding of networking solutions and camera tethering.
  • Advantageous knowledge of the latest photography equipment and lighting setups.
  • A forward-thinking, innovative, and proactive approach to projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and strong time management.
  • A flexible attitude with the willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • An enthusiastic team player with strong motivational skills and a professional manner.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and remain responsive to change.
  • Some existing knowledge of the NEXT brand
