27 News and FOX 43 News are looking for a driven and dynamic Multimedia Journalist to uncover and report impactful news stories in Northeast Kansas. This is an opportunity to work in Topeka, the state’s capital, a city full of enterprising and breaking news opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Report and produce compelling news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
- Arrange and conduct interviews to provide in-depth coverage
- Review, edit, and fact-check stories for accuracy, grammar and journalistic integrity
- Research and analyze background information to enhance storytelling
- Pitch relevant and engaging story ideas to news managers and producers
- Cover a wide range of events, including politics, sports, community affairs and breaking news
- Shoot and edit video content for on-air and digital distribution
- Write and publish stories for the station website and social media platforms
- Engage with viewers and users on social media to enhance audience interaction
- Ensure all content meets company standards for quality and ethics
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong on-air presence and ability to ad-lib as needed
- Proficiency with newsroom technology, including video cameras, editing software and newsroom systems
- Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple assignments and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
