About this role

The Master Control/Editor, Per Diem is responsible for reviewing, editing and assuring accurate timing of WGN Local and NewsNation programming.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Record and do any required editing for WGN public affairs programs
  • Record and do any required editing for WGN sports programs
  • Edit Community Calendar
  • Prep commercials for WGN and NewsNation
  • Edit NewsNation programs that are needed for encore playback
  • Generate captions for any edited material
  • Deals directly with engineering for maintenance
  • Coordinate with EIC for show and commercial delivery
  • Coordinator of IFB Bunker
  • Operation of Master Control automation systems
  • Assumes job duties of absent department staff

REQUIRMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar television work environment
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere
  • Knowledge of Florical and BitCentral preferred
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Windows Word and Excel desired
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and detail skills in order to meet telecast deadlines
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends

Compensation:

$21.33 to $44.97 per hour - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
