About this role

Job Summary: Is in charge of a service shop with responsibility for selling a variety of products performs related duties such as merchandise stocking displaying and record keeping. May exercise administrative supervision over a group of associates. Duties and Responsibilities: Operates a cash register in accordance with established cash control procedures and is responsible for own change fund. Maintains Daily Appointment Book for patrons. Sells merchandise and assists customers in the selection of merchandise. Provides customers with product information concerning specific items as well as new or related items in which customer may be interested. Prepares Merchandise Transfers or other documents for supplies needed. Ensures adequate supply of stock is maintained at all times. Maintains shop area in a clean and orderly manner. Marks stocks and arranges merchandise for display. Dusts display items and cleans shelves handling merchandise with care. Notifies supervisor of slow moving or damaged items. Performs inventory counts. Performs other related duties as assigned. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Performs duties independently within the framework of prescribed procedures. Refers problems or unusual situations to supervisor for assistance and guidance. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy effectiveness and customer satisfaction

GENERAL EXPERIENCE 6 months responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Graduation from a full 4 year or senior high school or possession of a General Education Development High School Equivalency Certificate GED may be substituted for the experience requirements.
