As Statistical Senior Data Analyst for the Comprehensive Health Program—an academic practice serving over 2,800 patients living with or at risk of HIV—you will be responsible for the data management of various grant-funded programs targeting at-risk populations for HIV infection (data abstraction and aggregation, data entry, data cleaning, and reporting). You will be also responsible for working on data analytics in support of our patient-centered medical home (PCMH) and Health Home Care Management quality improvement initiatives.

 

Senior Statistical Data Analyst - Columbia - Grant Funded

The Comprehensive Health Program’s model of care aims to integrate primary care, specialty care, behavioral health, and community services through its PCHM and Health Home Care Management activities. In support of this mission, our program combines population health strategies and data analytics to support our clinical care teams’ capacity to serve patients with complex care needs who are living with HIV or at-risk of infection. The Senior Analyst is responsible for assisting the transformation of clinical and operational processes by providing analytic insight on areas of improvement. This includes analyzing clinical and business flows to define opportunities for change, integrating multiple data systems across various departments and providing accurate, actionable information to key stakeholders. This position requires direct and effective interaction with Vice Presidents, Directors, Physician Leadership, and other staff. You will have an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in data reporting systems by working as the direct liaison to the IT Department on EPIC-related matters and collaborating with vendors on internal database maintenance and data reports development.  

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Presents visionary concepts and solutions to management, using data tools, which will help to transform clinical and operational processes.

  • Coordinates and participates in the planning, definition, design, and implementation of all reports and applications in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders. Clearly identifies decision points that must be achieved to maintain project timelines.

  • Manipulates, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data through presentations to facilitate decision making for stakeholders; communicates findings of analyses and insights verbally, visually and in writing to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Works collaboratively with leadership in Strategy, Information Technology, Finance and Quality, in efforts to advance clinical data analytics, process improvement methodologies and other key strategic initiatives.

  • Identifies opportunities to develop forecasts, statistical models, and data-driven analyses to transform clinical and business flow. Assists in defining, developing, and implementing plans for improving clinical efficiency and effectiveness through data analysis.

  • Assists in providing work direction and reviews work of more junior staff. Provides on-the-job training and answers job related questions for staff.

  • Supports data governance and data sharing efforts through development and maintenance of a data dictionary and data architecture.

 

 

Preferred Criteria

  • Bachelors public health or related field.

  • Strong SQL programming background and data visualization programs (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Familiar with quality improvement (QI) methodologies.

  • Experience with New York State Department of Health and New York City Department of Health grant-reporting applications (AIRS, eSHARE, HRSA electronic handbook).

  • Desire to exceed expectations in supporting program achieve its quality of care goals
