Patient Registrar Surgical - Orthopedics - Queens Medical Group

The Patient Registrar Surgical is responsible for scheduling patients for surgical and non-surgical procedures, including Pre-Admission Testing. This role involves providing high-level clerical support to the practice or provider assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer patient phone calls courteously and professionally.

  • Maintain administrative and clinical calendars.

  • Perform schedule changes and manage the scheduling system.

  • Prepare physician forms/applications for signature.

  • Schedule patients' surgery and pre-test appointments.

  • Ensure pre-operative clearances are obtained.

  • Monitor physician schedules. 

  • Facilitate radiologic and surgical procedure peer-to-peer requests.

  • Ensure proper communication with providers and patients.

  • Develop effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.

This is a full time 36.25 weekly hours: Monday - Friday, day position. This position is located in Fresh Meadows, Queens.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Epic Experience is a plus

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Prior administrative secretarial experience.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management expertise.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
