Medical Assistant/Technician Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Multispecialty - Queens Medical Group - Full Time Days

Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assist the practitioners and management in daily office operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Assures the patient is properly prepared for the visit to maintain timely patient flow

  • Measure and record height, weight, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.

  • Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as physician or registered nurse requested.

  • Observe the patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records.

  • Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.

  • Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.

  • Performs clerical and secretarial work as needed. Interacts with patients and colleagues in accordance with
    institutional service excellence standards.

This is a Full Time, Monday-Friday day shift position (9AM - 5PM) and overtime as needed. This position is located in Jackson Heights and may need to travel to other locations if needed.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Medical Assistant certification

  • Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Bilingual in Spanish or Bengali preferred

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
