Dietary Worker - Part-Time - Evenings/Weekends - Queens


Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in delivering exceptional support and customer service to patients and their families. As a Dietary Worker, you’ll help create a compassionate, caring, and safe environment that ensures a positive experience for every patient, every time.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and serve meals to patients daily, ensuring dietary needs are met with care and attention
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks in the kitchen, cafeteria, tray line, and dishwashing areas
  • Follow standard practices and procedures to maintain efficiency, cleanliness, and safety

Position Details

  • Location: NYP/Queens
  • Status: Part-Time
  • Shift: Weekdays, weekends, and holidays required. Varied days; every weekend required.
  • Typical Hours: 3:45 PM–7:45 PM, 4:00 PM–8:00 PM, or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
  • Union Requirement: Registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund

Preferred Criteria

  • Food Safety Certification

  • Previous experience in food service

  • Background in the hotel, restaurant or retail industry

  • Strong customer service skills with a passion for putting patients first

Required Criteria

  • High School Diploma

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, and follow oral/written instructions

  • Proficiency in using various types of kitchen equipment, including dishwasher, cleaning equipment, serving utensils, toasters)

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and boxes and stand for  extended periods of time

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
