This role is responsible for deploying firmware updates, ensuring network devices are patched, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining network infrastructure to meet security and performance standards.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deploy firmware updates and security patches to routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.</li> <li>Ensure all networking devices remain up to date with vendor-recommended patches.</li> <li>Monitor patching schedules and document successful and failed updates.</li> <li>Troubleshoot patch deployment issues and escalate unresolved problems.</li> <li>Work with vendors to address patch-related bugs, vulnerabilities, and performance issues.</li> <li>Ensure that patched networking devices comply with security best practices.</li> <li>Document security patching procedures and maintain compliance records.</li> <li>Monitor system health dashboards to proactively address potential issues.</li> <li>Document maintenance schedules, patch deployments, and resolutions in the ITSM system.</li> <li>Respond to IT service requests and incidents related to patching and maintenance.</li> <li>Troubleshoot performance, compatibility, and security issues arising from patch deployments.</li> <li>Ensure proper rollback procedures are in place for failed updates.</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPETENCIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with enterprise patch management solutions.</li> <li>Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and vulnerability management.</li> <li>Outstanding capabilities to troubleshoot and correct network issues.</li> <li>Strong broad-based knowledge of Network hardware, Operating systems (client and server), networking products, connectivity, and cabling.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all customer contacts.</li> <li>Ability to provide clear written communication for ticket/project updates.</li> <li>Clear written communication to maintain organization and control over all information related to customer tickets and assignments.</li> <li>Excellent verbal skills for customer interaction.</li> <li>Excellent documentation skills.</li> <li>Dedicated to always providing exceptional customer service.</li> <li>Proficiency in all aspects of the core technical requirements.</li> <li>Strong team collaboration skills.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED</strong><strong>: </strong></p> <ul> <li>3+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer.</li> <li>Understanding of firmware updates and patching procedures for networking equipment.Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general maintenance best practices.</li> <li>Participate in planning and execution of new and existing equipment hardware and firmware upgrades.</li> <li>Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, MFA, DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, and QoS.</li> <li>Strong background with Cisco (ASA and Meraki), Fortinet, and Sonic Wall.</li> <li>Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.</li> <li>Fundamental knowledge of Network relationships to cyber security principles and practices.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Cisco CCNA Preferred.</li> <li>Experience with multiple network technology stacks. (Solar Winds and Auvik)</li> <li>Knowledge and experience in network virtualization technologies.
