Job Summary

New England Mechanical Services, Inc is currently seeking an HVAC pipefitter for our New London, CT Operations Group.  This opportunity requires a self-motivated individual with commercial HVAC and gas piping experience. 

 

Responsibilities assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating and cooling.

 

Additional plumbing duties include assemble, installation, or repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems, according to specifications or plumbing codes.

 

An additional pressure boiler pipefitting license is a plus.

 

Off-shift and overtime required.  A company vehicle will be provided.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include but not limited to the following.

Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisor and crew members.Work independently and as a team member.Works with other trades to coordinate work on the job site.

Keep trade licenses and certifications current.

Attend all safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI.

Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and use personal protective equipment when performing installation and/or servicing HVAC systems.

Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and neat appearance.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Preferred S2 License
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Required experience with commercial HVAC systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent communication and written skills are a must.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, smell and lift, set-up and climb ladders as well as stairways. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Maintain a neat and clean appearance and utilize all protective equipment provided and as required.
