JOB MISSION

New Balance are offering a 1 year paid internship to an undergraduate student, currently in their penultimate year of study, with a desire to follow a career in Sports Marketing. The role will support the department dedicated to Sports Marketing in their work to manage and service global football teams and players. Training and support will be given and you will gain a broad knowledge of a Global Football Marketing department.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assistance with all player and club servicing requests (personal, family, friends, charitable). Using NBs Aurora system and in office UPS account to ensure quick turnaround of product for our players and clubs. Providing up to date tracking and delivery information to the SM Team.

  • Management of bespoke player packaging for key athlete moments.

  • Creation and ownership of key energy moments calendar (on pitch and off pitch). Working with Sports Marketing team to ensure no misses.

  • Office management to ensure the three sports marketing stock areas remain tidy and structured. (Inline product area, athletes’ boots area, collaborations area).

  • Stock management of all previous seasonal product (decide which player/club initiative serves best to utilise stock. Both in office and warehouse).

  • Keep track of all NB players social media activity and then share/present monthly.

  • Provide recommendations for players future social posts.

  • Support the social media group in preparation and delivery of photo shoots.

  • Support SM team with urgent club/ player needs and requests.

  • Support SM team with the sports marketing one drive and intel databases.

  • Providing recommendations on how to push our players into different arenas (music, fashion, E-sports etc).

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Currently studying for or just completed a degree in Marketing / Business / sport related subjects.

  • Strong passion for football and the football industry with proven interest in the sport

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability and a proactive approach to tackling challenges

  • Ability to work within a fast-paced team and also complete tasks individually when required.

  • Experience in and strong interest in using social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat and YouTube.

  • Strong initiative with desire to take on new projects.

  • Interest in following in trends in football, sport and lifestyle marketing.

  • Willingness to travel (within UK).

DESIREABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

  • Proficiency in a foreign language (ideally French, Spanish and or Portuguese).

  • Experience with Adobe programs such as InDesign, Illustrator & Premier Rush / video editing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
