Position: Software Development Engineer II  AI-Driven Full Stack Engineer

Location: Remote OK (If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work 2 days on-site)

Salary: $125k to $150k d.o.e.

New American Funding (NAF) is a mortgage lender offering an array of loan options. Established in 2003 and headquartered in Tustin, CA, United States.

NAF is looking for a Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to design and develop AI-enhanced applications that optimize our loan processing systems. As a mid-level engineer (4-6 years of experience), you will take ownership of key features, drive AI-powered automation, and work independently to build scalable software solutions. You will be responsible for integrating AI models into production, enhancing our microservices architecture, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using C#, React, JavaScript, and SQL/NoSQL.
• Implement AI-powered automation, such as intelligent document processing and risk models.
• Lead development of REST APIs to support AI-driven features.
• Work with SRE/DevOps on Optimizing MLOps pipelines for continuous deployment of machine learning models.
• Enhance our microservices architecture and cloud-based applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues independently.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Stay up to date with emerging AI/ML trends and their application in software development.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in full stack software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in C#, JavaScript (Node.js, React), and SQL/NoSQL.
• Experience with AI/ML integration into production applications.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML).
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: If based in New American Funding’s offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
