Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Surgical Technologist - Main Operating Room

  • Location: Chicago, IL

  • Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours/week

  • Hours: 11:00am-7:30pm

  • Required Travel: No

What you will do:

  • Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.  Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.

  • Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures.  Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.

  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.

What you will need:

  • Graduate of an approved surgical technology program

  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association

  • Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience

  • Certification in surgical technology preferred
