Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Marketing and Operations to join the central Office of Marketing and Communications (MarCom). This position reports to the University’s Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.

 

The Director of Marketing and Operations is a strategic change agent who drives outcome-focused planning and processes for the University’s MarCom core functions of creative, communications, marketing operations, web, and digital strategy. This includes developing and refining processes that improve MarCom’s productivity and efficiency through goal setting, planning, and the integration of its work across the institution. The position also contributes to the development and implementation of departmental strategies, proposals, efficiencies, policies and practices. 

 

A forward-thinking, impactful leadership position, the Director of Marketing and Operations spearheads operational excellence with an emphasis on strategy and ROI, proactively advocating Marcom’s value across the University to key stakeholders, and threading MarCom strategy and execution in close alignment with senior leaders across campus, and as a liaison between the University MarCom office and faculty and staff from schools, colleges, and units. The Director collaborates with vendors, agencies, and media outlets to execute projects, campaigns, and media buys that support enrollment goals, and leads the evaluation, implementation, and management of emerging marketing technologies to enhance full‑funnel attribution, budget oversight, predictive planning, and day‑to‑day operational automation.

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years of related professional work experience, OR

Master’s Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience.

Related Experience: Marketing/communication; agency account management experience, project and program management; experience implementing new and social media digital platforms; financial oversight and strategic planning or related.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with translating complex data into clear, actionable marketing strategies for diverse stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience with understanding omnichannel marketing strategies and execution

  • Demonstrated experience identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborating with a team to hit ambitious growth targets.

  • Experience with managing an advertising/marketing agency

  • Demonstrated experience working in project management systems

Compensation Grade - D

Salary Band: $89,386 - $134,078

Salary is based on related education and experience, internal equity and budget. Salary Schedules

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
