We’re seeking a skilled Systems Engineer (L1) to take charge of end-to-end project lifecycles, from initial planning to closeout.

We are looking for a L1 Systems Engineer to join our 24/7 IT Operations team. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving basic issues related to Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory Users and PC hardware. L1 Systems Engineer will act as the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring fast response times and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

🎯 Main Responsibilities

  • System Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor Windows/Linux servers and virtualization platforms, for performance and security issues, Identify and troubleshoot basic system-related issues, such as service failures, performance bottlenecks, and resource constraints. 
  • Respond to alerts from monitoring tools (e.g., Xclarity, Zabbix). 
  • Escalate critical issues to L2/L3 engineers while ensuring proper documentation. 
  • Provide first-line technical support for end-users and business applications. 
  • Assist clients with basic troubleshooting steps via Ticket, phone, or email. 
  • Guide users through basic troubleshooting steps for OS and application-related issues. 
  • Ensure all support requests are logged in the ticketing system (e.g., Jira). 
  • Ensure prompt incident resolution within customer SLA-defined response times. 
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).  
  • Desired:
  • CompTIA A+ or MTA (for foundational IT knowledge). 
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) (for cloud services knowledge). 
  • ITIL Foundation (for understanding IT service management). 
  • VMware VCTA (for basic virtualization knowledge).

💻 Specific Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of system administration (Windows/Linux OS, virtualization, cloud computing). 
  • Familiarity with Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and group policies. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and O365 platform (Excel,Outlook,Word,Teams)
  • Familiarity with Ticketing Systems (Service now, Jira)
  • Good problem-solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to work in a shift-based 24/7 support model. 
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Desired Experience in IT Support/Helpdesk Roles with:
  • Basic experience with PowerShell or Bash scripting  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure fundamentals (virtual machines, storage, networking).
