Job Description

NETZSCH Pumps USA, located in Exton, PA, is focused on expanding its manufacturing capabilities. To achieve this, we are investing in advanced welding technologies to support local fabrication of pump components for the North American market.

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Welding Engineer / Certified Welding Inspector to establish, build, and expand a new welding department from the ground up. This role is responsible for selecting welding technologies, designing the shop-floor welding layout, defining and certifying welding procedures, developing manufacturing processes, and implementing quality assurance requirements. The Welding Engineer will also develop a supplier base for welding consumables and raw materials. The position is designed with a clear growth path toward becoming the Manager of the Welding Department, ultimately owning planning, scheduling, and fulfillment processes.

Qualifications

To successfully perform this job candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience in a similar role as a CWI is acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Strong hands-on experience with welding processes, welding procedure development, and weld quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or significantly develop welding capabilities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with layout planning, equipment selection, and process development.
  • Knowledge of AWS, ASME, or ISO welding standards and certification requirements.
  • Ability to read drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and inspection criteria.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.

The following skills and experience is preferred:

  • AWS certifications such as CWI, CWE, or SCWI.
  • Experience in supplier development and materials sourcing.
  • Background in implementing QA programs and inspection methods.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prior leadership or team coordination experience.
