The Role

As a Senior Game Designer, you will help create high-quality games that a broad audience of gamers and casual players can play and love. In this role, you will work closely with your team to deliver best-in-class gameplay experiences for the largest possible audience of potential players: Netflix members.
In this role, you’ll be working on local cooperative and competitive party games explicitly built for cloud streaming and multiple device play. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating closely with the Game Lead, and members of Art, Engineering, UX, Product Management, consumer insights, and others through all stages of development from Concepting through Production and Live Ops..

  • Leading and mentoring fellow designers and team members, drawing on your expertise to inspire, coach, and support their needs and decisions..

  • Designing, planning, and implementing game mechanics, systems, and content. 

  • Fine-tune features using live game metrics and user experience testing.

  • Develop comprehensive design documentation covering gameplay mechanics, guidelines, game loops, and player progression.

  • Create concepts and prototypes, actively participating in planning and analyzing tests.

Skills and Experience:

  • A focus on iterative development and product performance improvement, proven through direct past experience with shipped and ongoing game releases. 

  • Experience in live game operations is valuable, both in conceiving how live operations are applied to existing games, and how to design games to allow for the natural addition of live ops after launch.

  • Experience with classic games and long-standing gaming IP.

  • Strong passion for casual, wide-appeal games

  • Understanding player motivations and audience profiles and the ability to align these with mechanics and systems.

  • Experience working with external partners and curating design work

  • Strong and proactive communication, organization, and collaboration skills
