Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Food Safety Associate Data Analyst, to be responsible for supporting food safety digital research and innovation with data scientists, food safety specialists, external partners, R&D, T&P QM and NR IT. You will strengthen the use of data to gain business intelligence and insights into food safety.

 

As a Food Safety Associate Data Analyst, you will contribute to building and maintaining solid, user‑friendly data platforms and catalogues for application by R&D, businesses and operations as designed.


A Day in the Life of a Food Safety
Associate Data Analyst

 

  • Participate in the Digital Food Safety Data strategy
  • Propose new ideas and approaches to improve data FAIRness in POCs, MVPs or solutions
  • Integrate understanding of solutions and data flows into data approach design
  • Design and execute data experiments for analysis, data quality and reporting
  • Scout and evaluate data sources, technologies and data‑related initiatives
  • Propose, plan, deliver and document technical support in project
  • Translate and integrate selected use cases into POCs and MVPs with experts
  • Cooperate with IT to hand over prototypes for industrialization
  • Cooperate with data owners on data quality and availability improvement
  • Participate in alignment and integration of data quality pipelines
  • Contribute to data source harmonization based on best‑fit sources

 

What Will Make You Successful

 

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science or relevant discipline
  • In‑depth understanding of modern database and information technologies
  • Knowledge of data transformation methodologies (ETL)
  • Knowledge of Azure and Snowflake technologies
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI
  • Good understanding of software development steps
  • Knowledge of SAP QM
  • Agile project management and consumer‑centric design thinking

 

Additionally, the good candidate has the following soft skills:

 

  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and organize large amounts of data, with excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Analytical, rigorous and systematic thinker with the ability to master new techniques quickly
  • Highly cooperative, conciliating, committed and reliable in collaborative environments
  • Strong analytical capabilities paired with communication, diplomacy and strength of character to lay out facts and options to senior management
  • Able to cooperate with and convince people from different disciplines and backgrounds
  • Strong enthusiasm for research in digital tools and data technologies, with a clear commitment to consumer safety
  • Excellent time‑management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
