Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Colorado - Lakewood, CO 80215Position Type: InternshipEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $27.00 - $27.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: DayAbout the Position  As a Renewable Development Engineering Intern in the Renewable Development group, you will support development, bid support, and preliminary (0%-30%) PV, BESS, and Wind design.   Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour  The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.   Essential Responsibilities  Assists in designing PV, BESS, and Wind projects across the United States.  Act as a liaison between the solar design team and relevant internal and external stakeholders.  Support the delivery of preliminary PV, BESS, and/or Wind design (0-30%). Tasks may include:  Creating constraint files to determine initial project feasibility.  Assisting in Solar, PV, or Wind layout creation.  Supporting preliminary level cable and DC design.  Assisting in preliminary level Civil grading and drainage.  Self-scheduling preliminary design activities to meet deadlines set by external stakeholders.  Conducting various EE Studies (Load flow, ampacity, losses, and/or short circuit).  Assisting in production estimates (Pvsyst).  Maintain high ethical and professional standards.  Attend safety training and adhere to all safety rules and guidelines.  Work well in a self-motivated environment and strive for continual improvement.  Other responsibilities as assigned.  Must Have  Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred.  Experience: Relevant coursework or project experience in engineering.  Enthusiasm for learning multiple disciplines and technologies.  Experience with AutoCAD and PVCase is a plus.  Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Project.  Basic understanding of electrical and civil engineering.  Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and internal personnel; strong interpersonal skills.  Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and a skilled decision-maker comfortable in a fast-paced design environment.  Excellent problem-solving skills.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  Working Conditions  Work Environment:  Work is performed in an office setting.    Travel:  Minimal: 0 – 5%    Physical Activities:  Must be able to lift 25lbs.   About NEI Electric Power Engineering  Serving Others.
