Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Colorado - Lakewood, CO 80215Position Type: InternshipEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $27.00 - $27.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: Day Electrical Engineering Intern – Commercial and Industrial   About the Position As an Electrical Engineering Intern in the Commercial and Industrial Group, you will support engineering design and analysis under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. You will be part of an integrated design team, coordinating with team members to meet project schedules and deliverables on time and within the defined budget. Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. Essential Responsibilities Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to assist in various power delivery projects within the O&G industrial sector, such as substation engineering design, transmission and distribution design, behind the meter power system modeling, as well as other project related tasks Assist in creating design products such as equipment general arrangements, single line diagrams, elevations, connection details, bill of materials, construction details, grounding details, conduit plans, illumination plans, etc. Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies Supports electrical power system studies, including equipment sizing, specification, and selection, load flow, reactive power, ampacity, short circuit, grounding, illumination, arc flash, harmonics, system loss, etc. Assists in preparing various documents and reports associated with projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, and studies. Research and develop a strong understanding and comprehension of applicable Codes and Standards. Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines. Other job-related responsibilities as assigned. Must Have Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred. Experience: Relevant coursework or projects in electrical engineering or field experience is a plus. Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software (MicroStation, SolidWorks). Experience with power system modeling software such as: Steady State software: (Power World; Power Factory; ETAP; SKM Power Tools; Easypower; Aspen; Windmil) System Protection & Arc Flash software: (Power World; CAPE, Aspen, ETAP; Power Factory; SKM Power Tools; Easy Power) Effective written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal and people skills. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Working Conditions Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.   Travel: Minimal: 0 – 5%   Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 25lbs.
