Position Summary

 

The Project Engineer/Mechanical Designer is responsible for leading and coordinating the technical and engineering activities associated with Mikropul and LCI equipment. This position combines hands-on mechanical design with cross-functional project coordination. The role includes developing detailed designs of cyclones, dust collectors, processing equipment, and other proprietary systems while ensuring engineering solutions are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable standards, customer requirements, and internal guidelines.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Design and model mechanical components, machined parts, weldments, and steel structures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare 3D models, general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, foundation plans, and fabrication drawings.
  • Perform engineering calculations to satisfy industry code, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and specification documents in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet customer specifications, company capabilities, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1).
  • Manage engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to completion.
  • Provide technical input during quotation, procurement, manufacturing, and installation phases.
  • Support Project Managers by identifying design conflicts, cost or schedule risks, and manufacturability issues.
  • Review, check, and approve drawings, calculations, and design work produced by other engineers and designers.
  • Participate in and oversee manufacturing inspections, assembly operations, and mechanical equipment testing.
  • Generate customer and internal documentation, including GA drawings, calculation sheets, work orders, and O&M manuals.
  • Review client specifications for compliance and prepare exceptions when needed.
  • Support sales and aftermarket teams with technical evaluations, feasibility assessments, and product knowledge.
 

Education & Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering, preferably related to industrial equipment, process systems, or pollution control technologies.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2D/3D) required.
 

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, machining, and fabrication practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems (IFS preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
