Dosimetrist - Proton - Full-time

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Dosimetrist - Proton​. This role will be great for someone that has a passion for radiation and great customer service for our patients we serve.  This specific position will work Remote / Hybrid Or from the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

We are currently seeking and prefer experienced Dosimetrists with Proton knowledge or experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical dosimetry. Candidates should also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential for this role.

Our MevionFit Proton Therapy machine will begin operation March of 2027. We are seeking a motivated Candidate to join our team in fall 2025. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the development of a new proton therapy program. The candidate will receive training in proton therapy, work with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement clinical workflows, and contribute to the ongoing development of the program operations. During the first two years, the position will be fully onsite to ensure the establishment of strong and effective workflows. After that, the position may transition to a hybrid model, offering greater flexibility while maintaining high standards of care and collaboration.

  • Aria Experience Preferred

  • VMAT Planning Experience Preferred

Dosimetrist - Proton Description:
Generate radiation dose distributions and calculations in order to provide radiation treatment plans, in accordance with the radiation oncologists' prescription. Assist in simulation, brachytherapy and specialty procedures as directed and participates in the clinical and didactic instruction of students.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Graduate of an approved AMA program in medical dosimetry or radiation therapy technology program required.

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or registry eligible required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience as a dosimetrist or radiation therapist preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy technology, or health related field, preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.

  • Medical dosimetry computer applications preferred.

  • ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist preferred.
