NDI Engineering Company is seeking a detail-oriented Creo CAD Engineer/Drafter to join our team to support hydraulic component replacement of the Recovery Assist, Securing and Traversing (RAST) System. This position will be based out of the NDI office in Thorofare, NJ, with some site work to be performed at NAWCAD (Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division) located in Lakehurst, NJ.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hydraulics and piping systems, have utilized hydraulic schematics and P&IDs, have an understanding of pumps and motors, and have experience in the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This role offers a unique opportunity to support critical defense programs while advancing your career in engineering design.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of a project team and interface with managers, design engineers, U.S. Navy civilian engineers, and equipment manufacturers.
Work in CAD software to determine acceptance of replacement component, design updated mounting brackets, and update connecting tube assembly layout. 3D models and 2D drawings required for all replacement components (CREO Parametric Version 8.0).
Work with project team for System Level Testing of all components, which is to install all replacement components, per updated drawings, into RAST System mock-up, to confirm form, fit and function of components.
Develop, maintain, and update Creo templates and format files to ensure consistency and compliance with organizational and customer standards
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to understand requirements and deliver accurate technical documentation
Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance
Minimum of 2 years' experience in drafting, CAD design, or related technical illustration role
Proficiency creating and maintaining solid models/drawings in Creo
Experience with engineering drawing standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Familiarity with military standards and specification is a plus
Background in mechanical or systems design is a plus
