Title: Instructional Designer

Location: Belgrade (Onsite/hybrid)

Role Overview

The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating effective, engaging and scalable learning experiences that address business needs and improve employee performance. This role partners with subject matter experts (SMEs), business stakeholders and learning teams to design learning strategies, build instructional frameworks and produce content that supports skill development and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with creativity, a learner‑centric mindset and deep knowledge of instructional design methodologies.
While your core strength is instructional design, you are expected to build sufficient e‑learning development skills so you can produce complete courses independently, ensuring speed, accountability and consistency in delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Needs & Strategy

  • Analyze learning needs, target audiences and performance gaps to determine appropriate learning solutions.
  • Define learning objectives aligned with business and performance outcomes.
  • Recommend optimal delivery formats: e-learning, blended learning, ILT/VILT, microlearning, job aids, or performance support.

Instructional Design & Content Architecture

  • Create detailed storyboards, scripts, learning flows and design documentation.
  • Develop assessments, scenarios and activities grounded in learning science and adult learning principles.
  • Ensure content is instructionally sound, intuitive and aligned with learning outcomes.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with SMEs and stakeholders to extract, validate and refine content.
  • Provide clear design direction to E‑Learning Developers.
  • Present design concepts, drafts and prototypes; incorporate feedback into iterations.

Quality, Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply evaluation models to measure impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure instructional consistency, quality standards and accessibility considerations across all learning materials.
  • Maintain awareness of trends in learning science, behavioral design and enterprise learning technology.

Qualifications

Basic

  • Educational background in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, Communications, or related field
  • Experience designing digital or blended learning experiences
  • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard digital tools (Microsoft 365 or equivalent)
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Willingness and ability to learn e-learning development tools, practices and technical standards

Preferred

  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools (Storyline, Rise, Captivate)
  • Understanding of LMS platforms and SCORM/xAPI
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG)
  • Experience with corporate training, content development, or technical environments
  • Familiarity with data-driven learning evaluation
