Facility Security Manager, Middle East & Africa

Purpose of the role:

The Facility Security Manager for Middle East & Africa will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s employees, assets, and facilities across the entire region. Overall, this role will help to create a safe and secure workplace environment, protecting both people and property from various threats.

Job description:

The Facilities Security Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of physical security programs across assigned facilities. This role ensures the protection of employees, visitors, infrastructure, and critical assets through effective security governance, risk management, and daytoday operational execution.

The position serves as the primary authority for facility security, overseeing access control, surveillance systems, and contract guard services, and while aligning security practices with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and corporate standards. The Facilities Security Manager routinely conducts threat and vulnerability assessments, identifies emerging risks, and implements appropriate preventative and corrective measures.

In addition to daily operations, the role leads incident response and investigation efforts, coordinates emergency preparedness and crisis management activities, and partners closely with Global Real Estate, IT, HR, Legal, and local authorities. The Facilities Security Manager is expected to balance risk reduction, operational efficiency, and employee experience while fostering a proactive security culture across the organization.

Key accountabilities:

  • Facility Safety and Security;
    • Oversee access control systems (badges, biometrics).
    • Manage CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
    • Conduct physical security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    • Maintain access logs, visitor records, and inspection reports.
    • Track maintenance schedules for security systems.
  • Risk Assessment and Management;
    • Perform regular risk assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and maintain a secure environment.
    • Stay updated on emerging security threats and compliance requirements.
    • Create and update security SOPs and emergency response guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Incident Monitoring and Response;
    • Monitor security systems for anomalies.
    • Lead or coordinate incident response.
    • Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to management.
    • Ensure emergency preparedness protocols are in place.
    • Coordinate with emergency responders during incidents.
  • Collaboration and Coordination;
    • Recruit, train, and schedule security staff.
    • Conduct performance reviews and ensure ongoing training.
    • Foster a culture of safety and preparedness among employees.
    • Work with HR, GRE, and Site Leaders for integrated security strategies.
    • Liaise with external vendors and local law enforcement.

Required experience, knowledge and skills:

The NCR Atleos Facility Security Manager is required to have more than 5 years of experience in building security systems, manned guarding management and/or physical security, with a solid background in effective risk management.

Work experience with complicated enterprise level security systems and guarding vendor management is required. The candidate should have a sound working knowledge of leading industry security tools, policies, processes, and procedures. Strong analytical skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills are required in order to interface with various business unit management and NCR Atleos customers.

  • Educational Background;
    • Academic Grade 12.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management or equivalent qualification
  • Work Experience;
    • Several years of experience in buildings security, or facilities management is essential. This includes hands-on experience with security operations, risk assessments, and incident response.
  • Certifications;
    • PSIRA, CPP, PSP or CSMP will be advantageous
  • Technical Skills;
    • Knowledge of security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and familiarity with the latest security technologies.
  • Teamwork Skills;
    • Experience in managing projects, interacting with stakeholders, executing security policies, and coordinating with other departments (e.g. GRE, JLL).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills;
    • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees, management, and external agencies.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities;
    • The ability to quickly assess situations and make informed decisions during security incidents.
  • Compliance Knowledge;
    • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to building security.
  • A current and full driving license (No endorsement) *Code 8/10
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Middle East and Africa.

  • Timely delivery of day-to-day requirements, e.g. access cards

  • Auditing of building security in line with published standards

  • Peer feedback from all departments and business units

  • Delivering efficiencies through continuous process improvement
