Job Summary

The Senior Analyst, Benefits Realization, develops robust business cases by building operational and financial models that support NAV CANADA’s technology and capital investments. This includes advanced financial analysis informed by traffic forecasts, regulatory drivers, stakeholder needs, and industry economics. The role works closely with Finance and subject matter experts to validate assumptions, align with corporate financial frameworks, and link projected benefits to NAV CANADA’s strategic priorities.

This position strengthens data driven decision making by integrating analytics into investment planning, enabling senior leaders to make informed, strategic choices. The Senior Analyst identifies efficiency opportunities, supports process improvement, and guides other analysts in best practices related to data integration, automation, and business intelligence.

As a high visibility role, it requires strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, along with the ability to manage complexity and deliver high quality insights in a dynamic environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop comprehensive business cases for ANS, technology, operational, and capital initiatives, ensuring alignment with NAV CANADA’s strategic priorities.
  • Build and validate advanced financial and operational models.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to project sponsors and business owners to ensure business cases support intended value outcomes.
  • Validate financial and operational assumptions with SMEs across Operations, Technology, Safety, Customer & Commercial Services, and Finance.
  • Create and maintain benefit realization plans for enterprise programs spanning CAPEX, OPEX, technology modernization, and operational improvements.
  • Track and measure benefit performance, connecting operational outcomes (e.g., flight efficiency, delay reduction, fuel savings, automation impacts, system availability) to financial and service delivery results.
  • Develop and present value realization dashboards and executive reports for senior leadership.
  • Facilitate workshops, training, and value adoption sessions to build benefits ownership among operational leaders, technical teams, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Support Program Managers and Portfolio teams by integrating benefit realization into project lifecycles, stage-gate processes, and program governance.
  • Contribute to investment prioritization and portfolio planning by assessing potential value, financial impacts, and strategic alignment.
  • Advance NAV CANADA’s value management maturity by introducing best practices, tools, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with various divisions, including among others Corporate Planning Integration, Enterprise Risk Management, Change Management and Corporate Performance and Sustainability to understand their data and reporting needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Business, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering or Computer Science, or an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in data management, integration, processing and reporting for business intelligence or strategic planning purposes, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 benefit years of relevant work experience in modelling or data support in the development of business cases or strategic reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in dashboard development and data visualization using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience with data process automation, ensuring efficiency and error-free data handling.
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data to form conclusions and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high quality reports and other deliverables for all levels of the organization, including Board of Directors, Executive Management, Senior Leaders, and employees.
  • Extensive experience in leading and providing functional guidance and trainings to a team / project teams.

Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence industry standards, best practices and methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of leading practices and concepts in business strategy and performance measurement and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Benefits Realization, process improvement and project management.
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting tools and presentation software (ex: Power BI, PowerPlatform).
  • Proficiency in programming languages (ex: R, SQL, Python)
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the techniques and practices of data collection, manipulation and validation, the organization of information for reporting purposes.

Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of information, tell a story, and simplify the complex.
  • Solid data consolidation skills, including ability to work with both structured and unstructured data to find meaning, form conclusions and provide recommendations through intuitive and meaningful reports and tools.
  • Comprehensive skills developing complex operational and financial models in support of business case development.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management competencies, with demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Power BI, PowerPlatform, PowerPoint and other reporting and presentation software.

Working conditions:
