Overview:


 

The Flanigan laboratory seeks a laboratory research assistant to participate in studies related to developing treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and related muscle disorders.   This role supports senior research staff by performing various molecular, organizational, and publication preparation tasks.

Performs research experiments in accordance with provisions of the approved protocol, maintains records, prepares reports and publications, and assists in analyzing data.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs semi-independent research experiments reliably and reproducibly in accordance with protocols approved by the principal investigator.
  • Collects and curates experimental data, maintains accurate daily logs of experiments including methods and results, and draws preliminary conclusions.
  • Assists the principal investigators in the preparation of scientific publications, grant proposals, and presentations.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and ensures that research equipment is in good working order.
  • Follows all appropriate lab safety protocols and other regulatory requirements.


Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, required.


Experience:

Research experience, preferred.
