Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Rockford, IL 61104Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $21.63 - $21.63 HourlyTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJob Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Crisis Intervention Specialist - Mobile Crisis Response - Candidate must be comfortable driving throughout the community and working with clients in home.   Part-time Saturday and Sunday 7AM-7PM   Compensation - $21.63 an hour     Location: Rockford, IL     Position Summary   The Crisis Intervention Specialist will work alongside first responders to provide on-site crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services for adults and children experiencing or who are at risk for experiencing a behavioral health crisis. These intensive supportive services are time-limited, designed to prevent additional behavioral health crises and mitigate adverse health outcomes. Specialists are expected to work on-scene, conduct mental health assessments, engage in de-escalation, make appropriate referrals, and conduct follow-up services as needed.               Responsibilities   The Crisis Intervention Specialist will perform duties including, but not limited to: Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Programs mission, values, and philosophies. Provide live crisis support for those at imminent risk of suicide, those in need of immediate resources; or those in need of emotional support. Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, or transportation services for parents, youth, and adults. Establish rapport with crisis hotline callers in a non-judgmental and calm voice. Assess risk through assessments including the “Ask Suicide-Screening Questionnaire.” Contact first responders if the caller is at imminent risk of suicide. Schedule appointments for intake and outpatient follow-up care. Provide transportation when needed. Administer groups and training for support staff. Completes all follow-up care and home visits within the required time limits. Reassess safety and provide referrals for behavioral health and other needed services. Performs other duties as requested.     Minimum Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field from a CSWE accredited college or university. Previous experience in crisis response, substance abuse, juvenile justice, advocacy, mental health, or equivalent. An awareness or acceptance of the NASW Code of Ethics and is an effective and efficient communicator. Is committed to serving the underserved with dignity, compassion, and respect. Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.     Other Skills   Established relationships with stakeholders and other community partners. Leadership experience in community engagement, activism, or organizing.
