POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Corporate Regulatory Compliance Manager ensures the Company’s products comply with all regulatory requirements associated with ingredients, packaging, and labeling.  This includes creation of new or revised label declarations while enhancing the systems currently established for compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards, State and Export Regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop all nutrition fact panels, ingredient statements, allergen identification, product, nutrient content, ingredient and health claims in accordance with all Federal and State labeling regulations and all Kosher, non GMO and Vegan certification requirements
  • Generate regulatory information on package labels using the Genesis Classic/Foods database with ingredient specifications and formula composition.
  • Review labels and approve content to ensure required technical label elements are included with proper placement, type size and verify accurate net contents statement
  • Monitor developing regulatory requirements and interpret relevant government regulations for products and raw material ingredients.
  • Manage international documentation, Certificate of Free Sale, COA’s, health guarantees, GMO and Prop.65 compliance documentation.
  • Review and maintain Marketing / Sales literature for products and create product specification sheets
  • Work in self-directed manner to stay current on trends in the industry that affect the Company’s product line by attending Webinars and educational workshops
  • Review and respond to Export Sales and retail customer submission requests for food safety compliance and quality audit documentation

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports, and other documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives. Ability to effectively present information to management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand for long periods of time, sit, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers, to handle or feel, sit for long periods of time, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach, and turn to access files and office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Field positions will be exposed to various unfamiliar conditions where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and which may include, but are not limited to, manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other venues as directed by a manager. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or other closely related field of education
  • Strong level of direct experience with Genesis software (Genesis Foods & Classic) creating NLEA and Label Declarations
  • Experience with TraceGains and FoodLogicQ Compliance Food Safety document platforms
  • High level of CFR knowledge related to food ingredient regulations and labeling requirements  
  • 10+ years’ experience in food or beverage Corporate Technical leadership and/or Regulatory Compliance management.
  • Recent experience in corporate level regulatory compliance management is required.
  • Strong Microsoft computer and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and manage packaging change Stage Gate tracker reviews 
  • HACCP, ISO, SQF or other food safety certification is desired
