Software Engineer III

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers to develop innovative experiences for our internal stakeholders, primarily focusing on creating a custom lab software solution for a high-throughput laboratory.</span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Responsibilities</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Design, develop, and maintain scalable services that support the diverse activities of a high-throughput laboratory.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Develop both front-end and back-end applications.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Develop comprehensive unit tests to ensure high code quality.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Collaborate closely with end-users and product managers to iterate on requirements and deliverables.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Optimize architecture and infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Qualifications</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">5+ years of experience in developing software applications.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proven experience with programming languages such as Python, React, and TypeScript.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL programming, with a preference for MySQL or PostgreSQL.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proficiency in leveraging AWS services, including Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Glue.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC).</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proficiency in messaging frameworks such as Kafka.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Strong quality assurance mindset with a commitment to delivering robust and reliable software.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Nice to Have</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Experience building custom Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or Laboratory Execution Systems (LES).</span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="color: #1d1c1d;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Located in Austin, Texas, to facilitate direct observation of the software in the lab and obtain real-time user feedback.</span></span></p> </li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p></p> <p><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Compensation &amp;
