Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Evaluate patients through medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic imaging
- Diagnose musculoskeletal injuries, diseases, and degenerative conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication, physical therapy, and surgical interventions
- Perform orthopedic surgeries for common orthopedic pathology including but not limited to fracture repair, arthroscopy, and reconstructive procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery
- Collaborate with physical therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment options, risks, and recovery plans
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with legal and institutional standards
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic medicine and surgical techniques
- Participate in on-call rotations and consultations as required
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, radiologists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency
- Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in orthopedics preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong clinical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassion: A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care with a commitment to improving our community's health.
- Proficiencies - Proficiency in performing orthopedic procedures and surgeries. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
