About this role

A research fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. The job involves deposition and development of thin film stacks and the development of lithography process for applications in neuromorphic computing. The candidate is expected to carry out the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deposition and development of magnetic thin films stack

  • Development of lithography processes

  • Fabrication of micrometer/nanometer sized devices

  • Characterization of magnetic materials by various techniques

  • Characterization of devices using electrical/magnetic testing

  • Micromagnetic Simulation and physical modeling

  • Mentoring of PhD and Masters/undergraduate students

Job Requirements:

  • The candidate should have a PhD in Physics.

  • The candidate should have worked on the spin-orbit-torque, including deposition of ultra-thin films, characterizations of such films, fabricating magnetic heterostructures, and related testing and measurements.

  • The candidates must be highly motivated in multidisciplinary research.

  • The candidate must have proven experience in spintronics research.

  • The candidate should also be able to operate sputter deposition systems, AFM, MFM, XRD, VSM, SEM, MOKE, lithography tools, etching tools, optical microscope, probe station, and several other required for electrical and magnetic. measurements of spintronic films and devices and related data analysis. The candidate should make regular progress report to PI. The candidate will also help develop proposal based on the results of this project for external grant.

  • The candidate must have published papers in international journals.

  • Besides, the candidate must have participated in internationally known conferences and presented papers.

  • The candidate must have reasonably good English writing and oral capabilities, as the position requires stakeholder engagement in English
