The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 12-month contract at the Centre for Research in Child Development.
Project Title: CRCD Research Infrastructure and Database Project 3
Project Introduction:
This study seeks to:
(1) maintain and expand a quantitative database of child development data from multiple research projects;
(2) pool and harmonise datasets included in the database;
(3) facilitate and support secondary data use;
(4) build capacity for research data management activities; and
(4) develop a body of evidence for the reliability and validity of educational and psychological measurement tools in Singapore.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, information technology, data analytics or related field
- Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS)
- Experience with research data management
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed
Preferred:
- IT background
- Good data analytic skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Familiarity with programming languages
- Experience in quantitative educational/psychological research
Responsibilities:
- Manage research data
- Maintain and/or build associated platforms of the database (e.g., App, catalogue, webpage, visualisation tools, etc.)
- Support and organize workshops for capacity building
- Assist with database maintenance and trouble shooting
- Assist with database documentation
- Assist with data input/extraction, data cleaning, and data harmonization
- Assist with project-related administrative tasks
- Liaise with CRCD faculty and CRCD project teams
- Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigator

What you'll do
- The Research Assistant will manage research data and maintain or build associated platforms of the database. They will also support workshops for capacity building and assist with database maintenance and project-related administrative tasks.
