The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer for Agentic Science. This position supports the development of AI-driven workflows for curating, augmenting, and analyzing scientific literature data. The role focuses on designing rule- and agent-based approaches to assess data completeness, infer missing experimental parameters, standardize heterogeneous formats and units, and extract analytical insights from published research articles across chemistry-related domains.
The Project Officer will take on a significant role in developing proof-of-concept demonstrations of data augmentation agents, conducting statistical analyses of curated literature datasets, and supporting integration with external scientific databases and online resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement AI-driven data augmentation agents for scientific literature curation
Apply expert-defined rubrics to assess completeness and quality of extracted experimental parameters
Design and execute Python-based scripts to infer derived parameters and standardize units and formats
Integrate external databases and online resources to enrich curated datasets
Conduct statistical analyses and prepare proof-of-concept demonstrations across selected literature domains
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Experience with agentic frameworks (e.g. LangChain) is an advantage
