Senior Financial Accountant

<h2><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></h2> <p>We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive <strong>Senior Accountant</strong> to join our Financial Reporting unit. You will be a key player in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and the punctuality of our reporting cycles. Working closely with the Manager of Financial Reporting, you will bridge the gap between raw data from our banking systems and the final disclosures presented to our stakeholders and regulators.</p> <h3>In this role, you will:</h3> <ul> <li>Take ownership of the end-to-end book close process of N26 Group, ensuring all entries are posted accurately within our ambitious three-day timeline.</li> <li>Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with <strong>IFRS </strong>and<strong> HGB</strong>, supporting the Manager in ensuring all disclosures are audit-ready and compliant.</li> <li>Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for accounting treatments.</li> <li>Evaluate and document complex accounting treatments. You will assess business transactions against IFRS and HGB principles, ensuring that our reporting framework remains compliant as our product offering evolves.</li> <li>Drive the implementation and optimization of reporting tools. You will work to move manual reporting into automated workflows, reducing "time-to-report" and increasing data reliability.</li> <li>Support the alignment between financial reporting and regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring "one source of truth" across the Group.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong><strong>What you need to be successful:</strong></strong></h2> <ul> <li>A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CA).</li> <li>4–6 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the Financial Services sector (Banking or FinTech) or a "Big 4" audit firm.</li> <li>Deep working knowledge of <strong>IFRS</strong>. Familiarity with <strong>HGB (German GAAP)</strong> is highly advantageous.</li> <li>Strong experience with Cloud ERPs (preferably Workday) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with SQL or data visualization tools is a plus.</li> <li>A proven ability to maintain high accuracy while working under the pressure of tight month-end deadlines.</li> <li>Full professional fluency in <strong>English</strong>.
