About this role
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Migration Consultant to support a lift‑and‑shift migration of a .NET application from AWS to Azure. The role is primarily infrastructure‑focused, with some light application‑level adjustments. You’ll work across cloud, networking, and application teams to ensure a smooth and secure transition.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver an AWS→Azure lift‑and‑shift migration for a .NET application.
Perform VM cloning/replication and database snapshot/restore into Azure.
Design and configure ExpressRoute and hybrid network connectivity.
Ensure stable integration with Kafka and Datadog monitoring.
Map AWS infrastructure to Azure equivalents (EC2→VMs, VPC→VNet, SG→NSG).
Apply minor application updates (endpoints, configs, secrets).
Validate .NET/IIS compatibility and support post‑migration testing.
Produce migration documentation, runbooks, and cutover plans.
Required Skills
Proven AWS→Azure migration experience, ideally for .NET workloads.
Strong Azure IaaS knowledge (VMs, VNets, NSGs, routing, storage).
Hands‑on experience with ExpressRoute.
Familiarity with Kafka connectivity and Datadog APM/logging.
Solid understanding of Windows Server, IIS, and .NET hosting.
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell).
Strong troubleshooting and cross‑team collaboration skills.
