Computational Scientist II
About this role
Overview
The Computational Scientist II envisions, designs, builds, validates, and launches new genomic products and product features that directly improve patients’ lives.
Responsibility
Author optimized and reliable analysis pipelines applied to samples.
Rigorously analyze a variety of big datasets to gain actionable insights launched into the lab.
Amplify the productivity of the entire R&D team by creating time-saving software tools and environments.
Work on collaborative teams with experimental scientists, software engineers, automation engineers, and data scientists.
Communicate results internally to key stakeholders and externally at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature.
Qualifications
PhD (or master’s degree with relevant experience) in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, biophysics, physics, statistics, molecular biology, genetics, or related discipline required.
Conversant in molecular biology and genetics.
Exceptional software skills, preferably with fluency in Python.
Impeccable integrity and palpable drive, with the competency to be self-sufficient and a strong desire to be part of a supportive team.
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing preferred.
