Key Responsibilities:
Designing and Implementing Secure Platforms: This involves collaborating with development and operations teams to design and implement secure infrastructure.
Vulnerability Management and Patching: Assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities across all platforms. This involves conducting regular vulnerability scans, analyzing scan results, and coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely patching and configuration hardening.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response Support: In the event of a security incident, they may assist in forensic analysis, containment, and eradication efforts by providing deep technical insights into the platform's architecture.
Cloud Security Expertise: Security Platform Engineers specialize in securing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). This involves implementing cloud security best practices, configuring cloud-native security services, managing identity and access management (IAM) within the cloud, and ensuring compliance with cloud security frameworks.
Compliance and Governance: Contribute to ensuring that platforms and systems adhere to relevant security policies, industry
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of security principles, network protocols, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and application security.
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.
Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, SANS GIAC certifications, cloud security certifications) are often highly valued.
