Lead the day-to-day activities of the Security Operations team including threat detection, incident response, triage, escalation, and remediation.
Monitor security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, SOAR, DLP) to detect and respond to security threats across the organization.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-severity incidents.
Establish and maintain incident response protocols, ensuring adherence to SLAs and documentation standards.
Supervise and mentor Security Analysts and Engineers; conduct regular coaching, training, and performance reviews.
Define roles, responsibilities, and schedules to maintain 24/7 coverage, if applicable.
Develop onboarding and upskilling programs for new and existing team members.
Continuously review and enhance SOC playbooks, detection rules, and response procedures.
Identify opportunities for automation using scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
Ensure SOC activities are aligned with security policies, regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and business requirements.
Support audit and compliance requests by providing relevant documentation and evidence.
Define and report on SOC metrics such as MTTD, MTTR, false positive rate, and incident volumes.
Provide regular operational updates and incident reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Work closely with IT, application, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and compliance teams to drive end-to-end incident resolution and continuous improvement.
Participate in tabletop exercises, red/blue team engagements, and threat modeling activities.
