Your day as a Senior Advisor

Located within the Fiscal Strategy Branch of the Budget Division, this role is part of a team that provides expert fiscal advice to support the Government’s priorities, strengthen the State’s balance sheet, and maintain strong credit ratings with global agencies. Working here means collaborating with dedicated colleagues across Treasury to review major policy proposals, guide funding decisions, and help craft the Budget Papers and key fiscal reports that influence outcomes across NSW.

In this vibrant and high‑performing workplace, you’ll solve complex problems, engage deeply with data, and build strong relationships across government. Achieve success as a Senior Advisor

In this integral role, to add value to the people of NSW, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance / Economics / Public Policy / Statistics, and/or related discipline (essential).
  • Experience with financial and economic forecasting (highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders, and effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in succeeding in high pressure, dynamic and innovative environments.

  • reconciling complex and conflicting data, to draw conclusions and communicate clear recommendations
  • developing, conceptualising, and communicating innovations and reforms in the provision and funding of public services.
