About the role

Provide leadership in strategically positioning the WWCC team to build high quality, integrated and innovative service delivery for a state-wide regulatory program that is clearly aligned to the Office’s core business.  Lead and manage the staff and resources of the WWCC Branch in delivering reforms and continuous improvement across the WWCC function.

We are seeking a motivated and resilient leader with:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
  • High-level interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills, including demonstrated success in managing relationships with stakeholders
  • High-level analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and issues management skills
  • High-level judgement, tact and discretion, including demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential, sensitive and controversial information

 

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated success leading and managing a large, high-volume operational area within a complex regulatory environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
  •  High-level interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills, including demonstrated success in managing relationships with stakeholders
  • High-level analytical, conceptual, problem-solving

 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent knowledge and workplace experience and ongoing professional development.
  • Employment at the Office of the Children’s Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks.
  • All roles associated with the Office of the Children’s Guardian are required to have a current NSW Working with Children Check.
