 Please note that an essential requirement of the role is willingness to travel as required (including regional travel).

 The training team is looking to establish a talent pool to support a couple of short-term roles that are expected to become available throughout the year (e.g. maternity leave). This approach will enable us to activate suitable candidates quickly as opportunities arise.

 About the role:

 As the Assistant Training Specialist, you will oversee the facilitation and delivery of effective technical training programs whilst supporting the development of a range of learning and development activities to build people and leader capability, aligned to project outcomes, business unit objectives and organisation wide strategies.

 Responsibilities:

  •  The primary focus of this role is to facilitate technical training. In addition, responsibilities include:
  •  Build positive relationships with team members and customers to support the design of effective training solutions using adult learning principles.
  •  Help create, deliver, and review training materials, guides, and resources while managing logistics to ensure smooth operations and service improvements.
  •  Stay informed about government processes and current adult learning methods to provide quality training services.
  •  Collect and evaluate training feedback to improve course content and learning outcomes.
  •  Use various learning methods, including digital tools, face-to-face sessions, on-the-job training, and coaching, to enhance skill development.
  •  Maintain accurate records of training activities and prepare reports to guide decisions and support learning initiatives.
  •  Deliver pre-designed training sessions to build workplace skills and align with organisational goals.

 About you:

 To be successful in this role, you will have:

  •  Strong ability to meet competing deadlines and manage your time effectively
  •  Confidence in facilitating conversations, developing, and maintaining relationships with our partners across the organisation
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills and superior attention to detail
  •  High level of confidence and capability in using technology, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools and systems
  •  Demonstrated ability to solve problems with creative and innovative solutions
  •  Experience in providing inclusive training in line with adult learning principles

 As the Training team is accountable for delivering technical onboarding training, the below skills are highly desired:

  • Proficient in NSW Registration and Licensing processes, including the use of the DRIVES system.
  •  Experienced with Maritime processes, including GLS and Siebel systems.
  •  Skilled in Revenue NSW processes, working with systems such as IMPS, FES, RevAssist, and Debtrack.
  •  Knowledgeable in E-Toll processes, including the AIMS and all related systems.
  •  Familiar with iCare processes, relevant legislation, and associated systems.
  •  Experienced with Fair Trading and Better Regulation Division systems and legislation, including GLS, Siebel, CAS, AMANDA, Retriever, TRIM, and Salesforce platforms.
  •  Skilled in Births, Deaths, and Marriages policies and systems, including GLS, Unify and Lifelink.
  •  Experienced with Transport for NSW processes (Opal, TrainLink, InfoLines), using systems such as Amadeus, PEGA and Salesforce platforms.
  •  Proficient in NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service processes, utilising systems such as Rez, RezExpert and Salesforce platforms.

 Essential requirements of role:

 Current NSW driver licence and ability and willingness to travel as required (including regional travel)

Service NSW Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at 90,767 base plus superannuation.
