Your day as an Assistant Ministerial Liaison Officer

As an Assistant Ministerial Liaison Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Office of the Secretary and Ministerial Services, Senior Management, and the offices of the Treasurer and portfolio ministers. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Coordinating information flows between ministerial offices and Treasury, ensuring matters are managed efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Responding to stakeholder enquiries, escalating and redirecting issues as needed to provide accurate information.
• Assisting with correspondence workflows, including prioritising urgent items and ensuring timely dispatch of departmental responses.
• Supporting the coordination of minister-requested briefs to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality information.
• Maintaining records, trackers, templates and procedures for accuracy and accessibility.
• Providing administrative and project support to the Ministerial Briefings and Correspondence team.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Well-developed time management, planning and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word), and ideally experience with workflow systems (such as Nintex or Objective).
• An understanding of records management principles.

Eligibility
