Your day as an Advisor

Join NSW Treasury’s Policy and Reform team, where diverse expertise comes together to shape meaningful change for the people of New South Wales. Working in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment, the team delivers evidence‑based insights and strategic advice across a wide range of social and economic policy areas—including early childhood education, health, out of home care, criminal justice, Aboriginal outcomes, digital, skills and customer service.

With a whole‑of‑government mindset, the team partners closely with agencies and stakeholders to tackle complex challenges, harness performance data, and support senior decision makers to drive positive outcomes for communities across the state.

As an Advisor, you will play a key role in developing, communicating and implementing high‑quality policy advice and financial analysis that informs government priorities. You’ll lead the delivery of clear and influential briefings, research complex policy and budget issues, contribute to Ministerial and departmental correspondence, and build strong relationships across agencies and portfolios. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high‑impact projects while growing your analytical expertise, collaborating with committed colleagues, and contributing to the broader goals and values of NSW Treasury—integrity, service, accountability, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for all communities.
